Recognising five consecutive years of Gold Awards for the highest standards in occupational health and safety
Granada’s Broughton-based Airbus team are celebrating after landing internationally-recognised RoSPA Awards for outstanding health and safety standards. A fifth consecutive Gold Award means that Granada has now been awarded the RoSPA Gold Medal, in recognition of the company’s consistent hard work, making sure their staff, customers and contractors get home safely at the end of every working day.
Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running H&S industry awards.
Granada rank 28th in the league table of the 200 top firms with the fastest-growing overseas sales. Now in its 11th year, the list is published by The Sunday Times, is sponsored by HSBC, DHL Express, Oracle NetSuite and is compiled by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research company.
Amanda Murphy, head of commercial banking, HSBC UK, said, ”The Sunday Times International Track 200 shows the strength, ambition and resilience of companies across the UK and we are delighted to be sponsoring again this year. At HSBC UK, we take great pride in recognising the contribution these businesses are making to driving growth across the UK.”
Mark Sidwell, managing director at Granada, commented, “Granada’s inclusion in the table, and our rank – exceptionally high for a first-time entrant – is based on achieving over 98% 2-year average international sales growth per annum, up to September 2018 – and further growth in sales since the data was compiled points to a very healthy picture for us. We’re all delighted to have our international growth strategy recognised by this prestigious listing.”
The full league table was published as a ten-page supplement with the business section of The Sunday Times on 16th February and is available on www.fasttrack.co.uk.

Engie Fabricom has awarded a significant contract to Granada Material Handling to design, manufacture and commission five davit crane units for use on two substations, including the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm. Each of the Granada Python crane units has been specifically designed for each offshore wind farm and the challenging marine environment in which it will operate. One Python crane unit will be fitted to each of the five Jacket Foundation platforms.
Granada further extend their offshore portfolio with a major contract win from Smulders, to design, manufacture, deliver and commission 90 of their unique Python cranes, one to be fitted to each of the transition piece platforms for Triton Knoll.
Situated 27km off the Suffolk coast, the Galloper Offshore Windfarm Limited (GOWL) already has one of Granada’s unique Python cranes fitted to each of the 56 wind turbine foundations, with another two on the OTM platforms.
Building on the success of their 2016 contract to design, deliver and commission davit cranes for the GOWL project, Granada have now been awarded a contract to ensure all 58 cranes are serviced and maintained in accordance with current legislation and with Granada’s own original equipment supplier requirements.
