Granada recently supplied a high quality door manipulator to a world famous industrial/agricultural machine manufacturer. The brief was to lift and rotate a steel door, weighing up to 60 kg, from a stillage into position on the machine.
The system incorporates a high speed vacuum lift with a double suction foot, the suction foot being able to rotate freely via a state of the art air-bearing. The vacuum lift was also pre-set in a hover position, to allow the door to be fitted onto the machine whilst still attached by vacuum.
The speed of the operation was also increased by the addition of a quick release valve to vent the vacuum to the atmosphere. The vacuum unit was suspended from one of our PYTHON jib cranes, to enable the door to be accurately positioned.
The door manipulators have been fitted to either side of the production line, in an effort to increase productivity.
